Poem
By Jin Lee
I am from the land of dim,
from the navy and blue with red.
I am from the water dropping down the bleach
I am from the land of buisiness
the sound of steps everywhere
everybody running wherever I was
as if they were needed to save somebody's life
I'm from the potato and lamb,
from bread and apple
I'm fro mthe thickest chips
and the grassy field,
from silverware! and cuisine!
I'm from the heart of Europe
with a meatball
and baked beans aound me.
I'm from the greatest empire and wealth,
as if india, South Africa, etc. were my own.
From the island of peace, place for holidays.
for the giggles and smiles,
the Capital of Castles.
Only the special to the left
being only tiny bit of space standing alone,
by itself having a party
When others busy
I am from the nation
leaving my footprints and traces
weathers pass by over,
without any seconds of stillness.

One Stanza
Gorgeous flow of liquid gold, smashing into another flock of golds
Rushing down to the end of the world, fast as chitah
I can hear them singing out loud, it washes dirt on the rocks as it flow
I can't see the end of the fall, seems as though it would go forever

Relating Article with "The Pearl"
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/business/2009/06/090623_greed_business_daily.shtml
The article above have a quite a bit of relation of the main topic inside, and it connects with the theme of the book "The Pearl", GREED".
The article is talking about whether the greed good or bad in various of different perspectives, and mostly the negative ways. Which significantly reveals the main idea of the motives it had inside the story of the book.
Meaning all the destructive force inside the story, and destroying characters lives, and that's what it talks about in the artcle if the greed goes for people's good and benefits at the end or ruin their whole entire possesions.

pearl reflection
As the story began, I thought it was quite optimistic atmosphere on people’s attitude, however as I read along, it began to reveal its moody feeling into it, the tone clearly showed what author was trying to tell the audience. As it goes through characters are slowly ruined by their lack of circumstance background they have. It gives an example how would people will be if we’re in that kind of position in our lives.
In the story, it clearly shows the matter of wealth which the characters inside faces, I looked carefully at Juana and I found out that she was very sensed brave, because she chose her family to lose everything instead of only possession she had, the pearl. I know it’s nothing for some people nowadays, however back then and especially to the family like Kino’s, their life depends on that one thing.
I think that author used the pearl to illustrate and reveal real love of character, to help us to contrast with ourselves if we were in that situation.
After reading this book I found that there were a lot of connections between one of the characters inside, such as Coyotito because he tried to earn more money by selling the pearl for good price, which refers me back and reminds me of the time I thought the same way he did.
Therefore this meant later on, this book gave me a moral message that it connected with my life with the various of events happened inside the book together, I knew what the author was saying at the beginning, and what he told the parable was about that taking my own meaning from the novel.

Moody story
It was heavy raining day, with bunch of dark clouds all over the sky, I felt really depressed that day because I just felt that something bad was going to happen. Just coming back from my school lessons, I sprinted back to the house to have a shower with all the stuffy rain all around my body. Soon as I arrive, I saw Bob fainted in front of the door without anyone at home. I took him to the vet and got him checked, however the vet said he was already infected by serious diseas long time ago, and said it's too late to get him cured. 30minutes later he wasn't breathing....

advertisment assignment
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry, be happy.
In every life we have some trouble
But when you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy.
Don't worry, be happy now.
CHORUS: Don't worry, be happy. Don't worry, be happy.
Don't worry, be happy. Don't worry, be happy.
Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy.
The landlord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy.
(Look at me--I'm happy. Don't worry, be happy.
Here I give you my phone number. When you worry, call me,
I make you happy. Don't worry, be happy.)
Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no gal to make you smile
Don't worry, be happy.
'Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
Don't worry, be happy.
Ain't got no gal to make you smile
Don't worry, be happy.
'Cause when you worry your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
Don't worry, be happy.
(Don't worry, don't worry, don't do it.
Be happy. Put a smile on your face.
Bon't bring everybody down.
Don't worry. It will soon pass, whatever it is.
Don't worry, be happy.
I'm not worried, I'm happy...)
Bob Marley- Don't Worry, Be Happy
I chose this song to symbolize for the happiness, because I thought th lyrics inside it really match up with the title happy. It's basically saying always be happy because it will make everything go well, and don't worry otherwise everything will frown. Also the theme inside it has positive feeling and even the music sound really blue, which I think it explains most of the facts about happiness.
Author is trying to give a message that happy will change everything you do, and happy worth more than anything else.

Clue 5
Effie was waiting for Jesus to come through him, meet her for once to know exactly what to do during her life, which will help her a lot.
2. (1)"There has to be thunder, or he won't come."-he has written this becuase he wanted to reveal and increase suspense from the reader that how God in real life comes to us, and gives examples of the situation.
(2)"On a cloud," she whispered. "A big black cloud.-he wanted to explain that how God relates to us into our lives, also to exaggerate the God's moves inside the story.
(3)"That's his favourite colour." (They were purple.)-he's trying to say that God has made his will come truth, and he's always right and generous who does goods for us.
3. Can non-Christian authors reveal truth about God's world?
They can but normally they wouldn't write things about God, which they don't even know much about. Otherwise, the author might have bit of trouble to deal with religious people becuase he says things about their world under God's control wrongly. It might be offensive to some of them. Also if they do, they might want to include something through the story and characterize his thoughts, and explain wy he doesn't believe in God,which would be included as a theme of the story in novel.
1)What is the theme of "About Effie"?
The theme of "About Effie" is to get audience know what God is, also to make them understand with actually get into the story easily and hook them with Christianity plot with personalizing with main character, and the God. This would fulfill author's expectations towards the reader to get to know who is Jesus.
2)Psalm 147:3-"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.", this is the verse that I think which relates to the story, because it exactly explains about God's movements toward our life and whathe does to us, and how he normally like towards us.
Clue 4
About the character in the stories, or even little characters that comes out of the story with giving the details of direct or inderect, towards the audience. Which basically means to give characterization.
2. How does an author drop clues about characters and how their actions lead you to the theme of a story?
Author should give information about each main characters or enough detail through the plot, so the reader could easily understand the theme of the story and gives clue, and gradually lead to hook them into the novel.
3. I think God revealed me to go to UK without any specific plan, and it encountered in my own life to make me be able to learn things that I would never get chance to experience, if I didn't think about even going there just because it was too buden for me to take in so suddenly. Therefore it makes this strongest setting I ever had as a encountering situation, it convinced me that it's the most important turning point during my life.
1) I admire person like president of Korea or USA because they both have came to the position which are ultimate, also it's the job which are most valued and responsibled for many of the issues in the world now. The reason I admire those people is because I saw their past view in the autobiography, both of them grew up in really hard background but they still managed to become how they are now. For example like Korea, he lost everything however he had dream into the future so he became mayor of Seoul, president in one of the best car industrial production company 'Hyundai' then finally became president that he always dreamed of from the beginning.I think all these procedure was planned from the God because I heard that he was always inside the faith of Jesus, never had doubted him.
That's why it always make me wonder that how they do that, bring me to challenge things.

Reader Response
2) It's similar that how the characters in the story behaved towards me, because that's how i behaved throughtout the situation.
3)Its character's thoughts and how he felt, was matching my own experience as well. What he wanted to do instead and aksing himself in mind was same as me, when i had to face them as well as them.
4) I also play an instrument as well as the character which is piano, how i learnt to play piano goes almost same story as how the character learnt.
5) In the story, it tells about the concert that he had, i also once had a concert. However, i didn't mess up my concert, but still i was so nervous and nearly made mistakes that could have went into failure.
6) His parents' and mine has same kind of expectation about the situation, that how well they want me to be, and be able to be the best at it. Which is really burden to both of us.

Clue3
2.The theme of "The Utterly Perfect Murder" is basically a mentally ill person become a murderer and from that point of view, he become more mental and can't control himself properly however there is a new person he meets then he kind of help him out to cange this event over around. This relate to my life that during life time, there is always going to be something which is going to help me out from appalling situation and point when I choose totally wrong direction of something.
3.A moral of a story different from a theme that theme is based on telling the audience what the basic plot or characteristics going to have, but moral of any story aims for the educational or even precepts from the story so the audience can relate to their living either get what the story tries to tell you the resolute of the theme.
4.It's more likely to be a moral statement for me because there is not much of a theme from this passage but it does have a teaching from what God declaring to us, that if we believe him we will ascend to good place after death on earth however if not we would be perished. The truth i might find in literaure which gave similarities with this are which gives useful lesson that we could probably learn.

Clue 6
Simile: It's also a figure of speech but the difference is that it compares 2 objects which are unlike, and often uses 'like' or 'as' propositions in sentences.
b)Authors uses figurative languages in their stories or even any of their writing because figurative language help them to create the story's theme or moral outstanding, by showing easy descriptive languages used to give out images of the main idea of the plot summarized from inside the literatures.
As we learned from the past, it also support the hooking the audience part because it interests the audience and make them gets into the literal activity.
2.1)The boy was tall as 3 inch-tree.
2)She laughs with deep, throaty voice that was like how dogs make sound.
3)His face was so round oval shaped, which had its two sides gently.
3.Exodus 35:2: God demands that everyone should be killed that works on the sabbath day
Deuteronomy 21:18-21: God demands we kill disobedient teenagers
Deuteronomy 22:13-21: God demands that we kill women whom are not virgins when they marry
4.These metaphors reveal about God's world and my understanding of them that the God has hated and wanted to abandon all sorts of mankind, who were behaving and being such a disgrace towards him. Although it makes me realise from the verses how strict and things we mustn't do with careful on every action we take during our life, so we don't put disgrace in front of his name.

introducing myself using figurative language
my brother is Jet Li
I look like an owl
I feel like as though i'm flying through the sky while i walk
because i'm light as air
It's boiling outside, i feel like i'm on fire
I'm as muscular as Arnold Schwarzenegger
I'm tall as the empire state building
I run like sloth
Clue1
Beauty is a adjective that describes things by the physical appearance, which are beautiful and attractive looking. Also examining features by the quality of them.
Find 2 Bible verses about God's view of beauty
In God's point of view, the adjective beauty is meant for the beauty of nature because things that he created on earth are so detailed which are incredible and amazing view.
1.Psalm 19:1‑6
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge. There is no speech or language where their voice is not heard. Their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.
2.Job 12:7‑10
But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds of the air, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish of the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

Utterly Perfect Murder, QW
I think this story is going to be about based on the title, that it should be having a story which there are a murderer and every time when he does murder someone for anything, he finishes perfectly utterly so polices can't detect who and how did it happened. Therefore until the end of story, they don't find it because they can't suspect even from any of the murder sites which they've been to for their investigation for arresting the murderer.
Describe a time that you wanted revenge on someone.
I wanted to revenge on someone that who were under estimating me and treat me as though if I was nothing to them.
Did you act upon that desire?
Every single time, I don't act upon that desires I face. I just can't respond as what I actually think and want inside my mind.

Connections with Literature

personal connection, annotation
2.also in 5th, they are discussing and talks about their events then they are saying that where should they go to find out something interesting and it reminds me of how i was like that really similarly with my friends in my childhood time
3.6th paragraph or even the whole plot of the story can be one of my events i also did to have fun between my friends, they were encouraging each other not to get scared even if they see Miss Lottie because some of them did and go for what they have planned to do to her. My story is not about this things but i did similar naughty stuff and got caught, it was a thing that we press the house bell run so the person comes out and no one is there which would annoy them quite a lot
4.pargraph8, they are keep getting feared by how she normally is and strange she is. They are mostly feared about how old she is because they are guessing her age that it's over 100, this describes personally towards my events detaily because this paragraphy is almost exactly describing how i was feeling at that time
5.they are aiming to destroy things that she should be most loving and valuable for her, to have more fun to excite themselves in 9th. It relates to my story that everyone who does this kind of things would do the same because it's better like this to annoy a person rather than a little thing that wouldn't be metter for them
6.in 14 it explains what kind of things happened to them after all the events that they have began and done for it because they seemed arguing as if something has gone wrong and bitter, they were moody and half asleep because they were imaging the things that they've done and thinking how wrong to do these kind of things which made them got anger from it. i understand by these that once i had argument with my friends because from what we have done, we got into trouble then we were saying all these problems are made because of you so therefore everyone got angry at each other to argue that one of each other made this happen
7.18th say that they couldn't do anything such as sleeping even because they were so feared about all the things they've done all this afternoon, there are same fear that has affected me like this when i was little and i couldn't think of anything and do anything until i solved the problem therefore when i was in school, i couldn't understand neither hear in my ears what was going on jsut because of the fear it scared me out
8.at 22nd paragraph, it describes that how he feels about what he has done becasue he feel furious and regreting how can he have done such a thing. all these regrets happened to me as well after getting into trouble for it because then you realise it was so silly idea however before you get into any sort of troubles, you totally forget and won't think about if this is appropriate things to do and make you feel really good overall
9.24th brings up the image well when it gives the speech mark, "M-miss Lottie!". he's scrambling in front of her because she just came up to him and stood still right there when he didn't even notice and kept on thinking, and it also remembers my childhood that always when i've done something wrong then i most of the time does the same action towards the person that i'm facing forward becasue it's so nervous and fearful to face the person that you don't want to see them again ever or musn't see
10.last 25th paragraph for my personal connection through the story could be that, from the paragraph it's saying about the how it felt to be in front of her and how awkward he was being that time then it gradually tells the story after and carries on. how it connects me with this part is that in every event i face or even have, i always think back and reminds me how i was being and feeling during that time if it was fearful, awkward, silly, furious, etc.

Clue 2
-Through him, our sins has been forgiven
-Because of him, everything was made out from Christ
-We were able to understand him better by the John, who came for us
after the call of Jesus
2.Marigolds story was basically to make us and understand about different kind of situation that we are going to face throughout our life, and also how to behave when we need to apologize to someone effectively
3.The reader's reponse from here could be that they were surprised how could these things can happen in the story and quite confused why did the kid done those awful things to the old woman, who is just bit of strange and different from normal people
It might have affected reader noticing how could this situation be solved, when the lady didn't accepted the apology from the kid
